Bio

Some people take a lifetime to figure out what their dreams are and some figure it out before they are eight. Such was the case for saxophonist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Mark Turner, who at the age of seven enrolled himself in piano lessons without his parent’s knowledge. Two decades later Mark Turner has distinguished himself as one of the most exciting and versatile performers on the Perth music scene. Whether performing his original singer/songwriter music or accompanying some of Perth’s greatest jazz, rhythm & blues and soul artists, Mark’s captivating stage presence and flair for entertainment elevates any performance into a memorable experience.

Regularly appearing with local talents such as Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys, Jessie Gordon, Perth Cabaret Collective and Hans Fiance, Mark enjoys a busy performance schedule in Perth, as well as touring extensively both around Australia and internationally. Mark has completed multiple tours of Asia, Europe and North America with highlights including performing at Mechelen Radio Modern Festival in Belgium, Bergmannstrasse Festival in Berlin and Singapore International Jazz Festival. Mark has also graced the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Adele, Big Jay McNeely, Tommy Schneller, Christian Rannenberg, and Alemay Fernandez.

Since the inception of Perth Fringe World in 2012, Mark has won four Music Awards and one Cabaret Award as well as receiving over a dozen Fringe Award nominations.
In 2017 Mark released his debut EP “Made For Us,” a sincere recording that comes straight from the heart for listeners to enjoy. Mark is currently working on producing his first album, which will be available later in 2017.
